IAN ROBERTS TAKES CLASS WIN IN DEBUT RACE

GulfSport prepared Caterham Seven shows a clean pair of heels.

At a windy, dusty and sometimes wet DAMC National Race Day, Ian Roberts made an excellent debut race to win Class 6 of the NGK Racing Series on the Dubai International Circuit.

His GulfSport built 275bhp Duratec engine, mated to a Sadev 6-speed sequential gearbox offered sufficient power to finish 4th overall behind a Ferrari 488GT3, an Audi R8 LMS and a Seat Leon Super Cup whilst staying ahead of a gaggle of Clio Cup cars, a Honda Civic BMW 130i, a Porsche GT4 Clubsport and a Peugeot 206GTi. Ian's Caterham is completely street legal and is driven to and from the race circuit!!

In Race 2, Ian retired the car whilst lying in second place overall when it rained. Ian said " It's my first race weekend, and I'm just here to have some fun, so I really don't want to risk putting this beautiful little car in the wall at my first race".
